Fear and Brave

Fear has long been a part of life. Often times we find ourselves becoming complacent and comfortable in our life. How often have we wanted to speak out and change the status quo but we decide to stay where we are.  I know that I often like to sit in the shadows and enjoy the status quo but lately songs about being brave have been playing in my head.  When I think about being brave I think about a song by Nicole Nordeman called brave. I included part of the lyrics here.

 

I’ve never known a fire that didn’t begin with a flame And every storm will start with just a drop of rain But if You believe in me that changes everything So long, I’m gone

 

So long status quo, I think I just let go You make me wanna be brave, I wanna be brave The way it always was is no longer good enough You make me wanna be brave Brave, brave, brave

 
The idea that it just takes one step out to get rid of the status quo and be brave.  Where can we be brave? What is God calling us to? What is the status quo that we need to say goodbye too?
