Remember that song that Kelly Clarkson sings, What Doesn’t Kill You Makes Stronger.
Here is the chorus
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone
What doesn’t kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn’t mean I’m over cause you’re goneWhat doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself and I
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone
I think that as we go through life we need to remember this. We all go through various experiences that change us and we get to choose how. For some they get hurt by situations and they don’t allow themselves to heal. Becoming strong means allowing yourself to heal and move past the experience.
Let me tell you a story from the Bible. Joseph grew up and was loved more by his dad than any of his siblings. He was a dreamer and had a dream that his brothers would be bowing before him. He told them and it caused some problems. Fast forward several years…. Joseph’s brothers are all bowing before him. But the process of getting there included his brothers throwing him in a pit, selling him into slavery, getting wrongfully thrown in jail and helping others that forgot about him for years.
I know the story is just a shortened a little but if you want to read the story it’s found in Genesis 37, 39-46
So as you go through situations don’t give up, remember your dream and keep moving on.
