Back to Basics

Wandering away from my core, I’m committed to a month-long return to basics in February 2026. Expect to hear more from me soon as I rebuild my blogging foundation.

I sit here at my laptop, realizing that it has been almost a year since my last blog. When I last wrote, I had hopes that with the changes I was planning to make I would have time to write more. Somehow, all that got lost in the busyness that is running a business and starting a post-doctoral master’s program. I have had in my mind to write a blog for weeks now. There has been something stirring but sitting down to write has eluded me.

So now, the one concept that has been going through my mind is to get back to basics. To strip down some of the many complications and go back to some of the basics of getting back into a routine. I remember there was a time that I was blogging three times a week. I am not sure that I need to get back to writing that frequently but I need to re-establish consistency. I did not write any New Year’s resolutions or create concretely New Years goals. I had the idea that I needed to get back to basics.

What does it mean to get back to basics? I am not completely sure, I do know I have wandered too far away from the core. I plan to spend the next month (February 2026) working to return back to the basics so I can start to set goals and develop healthy routines once again. Hopefully I will be back here writing before a year has passed.
