Your Story Matters

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11 NKJV

Every time I hear this verse, I begin to think about the power of story and our testimony. People will sometimes say that they do not have a testimony, they think that their story is not a testimony. However, your story matters. Each and everyone’s story matters. Your story is your testimony. When we tell our stories, our testimonies we are overcoming.  Your story brings you healing, it brings healing to you and it brings healing to others.

What do I mean by this? As you tell your story, your testimony, you encourage others to seek God’s will for their life.  You inspire others to try. You show others what God can do. You help build up their faith so they can trust God to do what they need Him to do.  I know that in my own life, it was someone else’s story that inspired me to have faith that God heal my hurts. They probably do not even realize now the impact of their story on my life or the other women who were at the conference break out session where she shared her story.

Now, as I share my story in Rooted at my church, I find my own healing continues. I also find that it helps the others in my group heal, it gives them strength to tell they own stories and heal. What is your story?
