Perhaps this is the time….

Recently I was listening to a book, and they were talking about Esther and my mind went to the verse Esther 4:14

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

I think about my own questions of who God has called me to be and why I am here. I know I am not the only one that wonders about my purpose and destiny right? Yes I know I do some amazing things in my job and I get to see things people can’t even imagine, but I also wonder, is this what I am here for or is there more? Something in the verse just hits me, “for if you remain silent, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place…” I don’t know about you but that really hits me because I often have let fear keep me from saying or doing things. Yes, God can use someone else but what if I was in that place for that very reason and I missed it because I let fear control me?

I run a lot of races, I am pretty slow which means I get to meet some great people walking in at the end of the race. Sometimes we are walking and talking for a few minutes and sometimes we walk the last couple miles in together. However, often by the end of the race, I have forgotten them, I may remember pieces of their story but I can’t tell you how often I have forgotten their name unless I have taken an action to remember who they are. How many times did I miss an opportunity because I did not take an action, even something as simple as following them on instagram?

For me I am going to work on being more intentional with opportunities with people, hopefully they will forgive me when I forget their name. How can you be more intentional about opportunities before you?
