Self Care Sunday: Sleep

One comment

Sleep is one of the most important parts of self-care and it is also one of the most neglected areas. Often times sleep is one of those things that we sacrifice first instead of prioritizing it. We often forget how important sleep is for every part of our body. I don’t know about you but over the years, sleep has had seasons where it was on the back-burner and this did not work out well in the end for me.

Today we are going to talk about the importance of sleep in our lives anyhow to have better sleep. Some people have solid sleep hygiene, they can tell you what they do each night to ensure that they get the best sleep possible. For some this means black-out curtains, for others its turning off the TV at a certain time. We all have the things we do to help our bodies head to sleep. I go to bed about the same time each night because during the week I get up very early. My body has been prepared for this and so I start getting tired about the same time each evening. Having a set bedtime, or a range of time you typically go to bed helps you have better sleep in the end.

Today, I encourage you to think about your sleep routine. What are you doing to improve your sleep? Is sleep something you are working to have consistently? Is sleep a priority for you? How can you increase the priority sleep has in your life?
